What you can do if your flight is affected

  • Need to travel on different dates? We can move your travel dates by up to 48 hours free of charge for Single Trip policies.
  • Unable to return home because of the disruption? No need to contact us as we will automatically extend your cover by five days free of charge.
  • Flight cancelled or delayed by your airline? You may be entitled to a refund, or the cost of food, drink and additional accommodation from your airline. You should contact them to discuss this.

If your trip is affected by the delays, you should contact your airline directly for assistance. If your flight is covered by UK law, they should give you the option of another flight or provide a full refund. You can claim a refund for any part of the ticket not used. If you still want to travel, your airline must provide you with an alternative flight.

Can I change my travel dates if my flight is rearranged?

Single Trips:

Yes. If the disruption means your travel dates need to change, we can move them by up to 48 hours free of charge.

This also applies if your airline rearranges your flight and the change affects your insured travel dates.

If you move the trip beyond the 48 hours, you will be able to amend your travel dates up to 12 months from your original departure date which may be subject to an additional premium.

You will not need to notify us of your departure date, providing your trip remains covered by the period of insurance as Annual multi-trips provides flexible cover within your period of insurance.
